Here are some drum machine representations of our rhythms. Use them if they work for you.

In these, the line labeled CP is the tamborim.

TT is the high pitched a-go-go bell.

CB is the low pitched a-go-go bell.

I'm not crazy about how these combined rhythms sound. To my ear I can only hear the tamborim when both play.

Samba practice at St John's in SWH 6pm Tuesday 9 July

Hi All-

Sambingo practice will be at St John's (*not* Southwest Harbor Public
Library) this week. (6pm Tuesday 9 July)

There will be a mini-practice after Beau's 6:30pm Thursday performance
at the library with the World Music Ensemble.

And then....

The Flamingo Parade is 9:30am next Saturday 13 July!

We'll gather in the mini-mall parking lot at the corner of Main and
Seal Cove Road at 8:30am. There'll be time for some last minute
brushup.

Great practice!

We had a great practice yesterday. Richard counted 20 people. There was at least one family of three visiting just this week. We avoided the thunderstorms that were moving by to the north. Practice next week with be 6pm at the library.

Open to all - young, old, novice, experienced. We're planning to march in the Flamingo Parade during the Quietside Festival Saturday 13 July. But even if can't or don't want to be in the parade, come practice with us!

No drumming Thursday 19 April

There will be no drumming gathering at the usual time on Thursday 19 April. It's school vacation week and many people, including Beau, will be away. Gather as usual the following week, 5pm Thursday 26 April. See y'all then.
